Tuf-Skin® and Tuf-Skin® II are dual-density fiberglass blankets and the most widely used insulation for HVAC equipment applications. The combination of a high-density skin and low-density core provides high acoustical values in the high and low frequency ranges normally encountered in appliances and HVAC equipment.


This fiberglass insulation can be used in lining of equipment such as air conditioners, compressor units, furnaces and heat pumps in an effort to reduce thermal transfer and make the equipment more efficient.

Tuf-Skin® and Tuf-Skin II® fiberglass blankets will also reduce the sound transmission generated by mechanical vibration or turbulent air moving through the equipment.


High-density skins and light-density cores provide high acoustical values. The porosity and inherent structure of the fiberglass blankets are highly effective in reducing thermal transfer.

Both fiberglass insulation products are easy to handle and install due to the product’s inherent rigidity. They are easily cut to size or shape with a knife, steel rule die, or shears. They can be firmly bonded to metals, plastic, or other material with commercial adhesives or mechanical fastening devices.
